POLICE are appealing for help after a report of large scale disorder on board a train at Dumbarton station on Saturday evening.

Officers from BTP (British Transport Police) were called to Dumbarton station just after 10.30pm on Saturday, January 28 after a member of ScotRail staff reported a fight on board.

When police attended, the train emergency door release handle had been broken along with a glass bottle.

However, the individuals involved in the fight had dispersed.

As a result of this violence, two trains were cancelled and other services reported being delayed by 53 minutes.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Mark Taylor, said: "From speaking with witnesses at the scene, it appears this brawl was between two groups of males.

"Two girls got caught in the middle of this fight with one of them sustaining a small injury to her hand the other received a minor blow to the head after being pushed to the ground.

"This outlandish and violent behaviour was ludicrous and we are working hard to identify all the parties involved.

"If you were on board this train, or know the individuals involved in this fight, please do get in touch."
