LOCH Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is a haven for wildlife- but visitors to Springfest might get more than they bargained for this year.

Springfest, the festival celebrating amazing food and drink, takes place on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 at Loch Lomond Shores.

And an eight-foot-tall, 16-foot-long T-rex animatronic will be part of the festival’s packed line up of family-friendly events.

The dinosaur will be entertaining crowds on Sunday, April 2 only, from 12noon til 2pm.

Springfest is one of Scotland’s freshest food and drink festivals, with the event first popping up on the shores of Loch Lomond in 2015.

The festival, just a short drive from Glasgow, Stirling and surrounding towns is free to attend and opens at 10am and closes at 6pm both days.

As well as being thrilled by the ferocious dinosaur, there’ll also be fun for all the family as kids get to try being mini chefs at our kids tent, there’s a chance to meet the Easter bunny and follow the Spring treasure trail whilst adults can enjoy popping into the cook demo tent, sponsored this year by Greenergy, throughout the day to pick up tips on cooking up some spring delights as well as listening to live music across the festival site from a range of excellent Scottish musicians.

Stuart Williams, marketing assistant for the festival, said: “I think a lot of people are fascinated by dinosaurs, so this should be an exciting addition to this year’s Springfest. We’ve had an amazing response so far online, so it looks like festivalgoers are looking forward to getting up close and personal with the T-rex, too. We can’t wait
