DUMBARTON'S Artizan Shopping Centre officially launched its brand new charity coffee morning with free refreshments and Mother’s Day crafts.

On Friday, March 10, the town’s shopping centre hosted its first monthly coffee morning, in aid of Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, inviting people from in and around Dumbarton to enjoy art displays and craft stalls along with free tea and coffee for a small donation to the children’s charity.

Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is the only Scottish charity that provides vital hospice services to children and young people and currently supports more than 400 families.

Stewart Gilmour, Artizan Shopping Centre operations manager, said he was thrilled to be able to host a monthly coffee morning at the centre’s Community Hub.

“The first of our new charity events was a huge success with shoppers,” he said.

“We were so pleased to see so many people enjoying the craft stalls and art displays.

“Our Community Hub volunteers had a fantastic time baking cakes and setting up craft workshops for the visitors, including Mother’s Day card making for any children that came along,” he added.

“Plus, we also had free colouring books and children’s toys.

“Each month the volunteers will be selecting a different Scottish charity for the proceeds to be donated to and we look forward to seeing even more shoppers at the next coffee morning on Friday, March 31 between 10am and 12pm.”
