CURRENTLY living in Levenvale with my wife and children, I’ve lived in the area all my life, only moving away while a student.
As a child, I attended Knoxland Primary and Dumbarton Academy, later attending Stirling University to study History, Philosophy, Biology and Geology.
I enjoyed working as the Custodian of Dunblane Cathedral and as an Animal Keeper at Blair Drummond Safari Park while studying.
You might know me from ‘The Coffee Station’ in Dumbarton Central Station.
I’ve enjoyed the challenge of owning and running my own business and it’s given me the flexibility to enjoy time with my family and explore my passion for history.
If elected, I hope to help increase tourism and boost the local economy by promoting and protecting the history and heritage we have in abundance and taking advantage of our location.
I can lose track of time walking my dog in the hills or by the Loch side, and yet I’m a mere half hour drive from Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city.
We also have a rich history all around us that many people are unaware of.
These are advantages and opportunities that we should be capitalising on for the benefit of our community.
Attracting tourists to visit Inchmurrin, Balloch Park and Castle, Dumbarton Castle, The Maid of the Loch and Ross Priory to name just a few things.
I want to bring fresh ideas to the Council. We’re not making the best of what we have and If elected I will work hard to change that.
