THOSE with a passion for walking in the countryside are being urged to take part in an ongoing event designed to boost your health.

Walk in the Park takes place every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10.20am in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

A spokesperson said: "They are one of the best examples of a successful health walk programme in Scotland.

"Starting from just seven walkers in Callander, they now support over one hundred walkers!"

Join them for a free, fun and easy way to get fit and feel better.

Choose from Aberfoyle (Monday), Callander (Tuesday), Killin (Wednesday), or Balloch (Wednesday).

For the more energetic there is also the Balloch Run ā€˜nā€™ Park, which takes place at Balloch Castle Country Park, every Saturday at 9.30am.

West Dunbartonshire Athletics Club host a 2k and 5k run every Saturday at 9.30am, starting just inside the main gates of Balloch Park.

There is no registration, no fee and no official recording of times, just turn up for a Run in the Park!

The run is suitable for all ages but please note that children under 11 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and all participants run at their own risk.
