Generous locals across Dumbarton and the Vale have been thanked for submitting a record number for the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Chairman's Awards.
The awards recognise local NHS staff who go the extra mile and who have provided "exceptional care" for patients over the past year, and almost 300 nominations have been submitted - a new high for the health board's awards.
The winners will be announced at a special Celebrating Success awards night on November 6 across seven categories including clinical practice, improving health, nursing, patient centred care and volunteering/patient supervisors.
NHSGGC chairman John Brown had a special message of thanks for Reporter readers.
Mr Brown said: “This is the eighth year of the awards and I am delighted with the best ever response from patients, their relatives and healthcare professionals in identifying so many worthy nominees.
“These awards give the people of West Dunbartonshire and our staff the opportunity to shine a light on the best examples of care carried out across Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
“I find it very pleasing that patient centred care and nursing are the categories with the largest number of nominations. This showcases the very best examples of staff pulling together to deliver care tailored to a patient’s individual requirements.
“Every year the nominations are of a very high standard and each year we have the hard job of narrowing each category down to just one winner. However, this is a wonderful challenge to have and I thank Dumbarton Reporter readers for showing such outstanding support for our dedicated staff.”
