PROUD parents packed the halls to celebrate the end of the year – and the school term – as St Patrick’s Primary School held its annual nativity performance.

Youngsters from primary one to seven all played a part in telling the famous tale of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem thousands of years ago.

The Dumbarton youngsters sported angel wings, kings’ crowns and shepherd’s crooks for the production, which included musical performances by the primary two and three choir, as well as a violin arrangement from some of the school’s most talented pupils.

The event was declared a smash success by mums, dads, grannies, grandads and guardians who watched from the audience as their little ones shone on stage.

One proud mum told the Reporter after the show: “My little girl had such a big part as an angel and she hadn’t even mentioned it, so I was really surprised.

“All the kids were great. They looked so cute in their costumes and did so well to remember all their lines.

“I don’t think anything quite beats a nativity performance at this time of year, it just makes you feel festive.”

Pupils performed a total of three shows for their adoring fans before heading off on their break.
