Dumbarton FC’s poet in residence Stephen Watt’s stars in a rousing new video released in the build up to their much anticipated Challenge Cup final showdown with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Stephen performs a haunting and reflective poem in the video produced by Sons fan John Sartain, which celebrates the team reaching their first national final in 121 years.
The video, which has already been viewed more than 30,000 times online, opens with the slogan “all great achievements require time” before the poet recites his piece as footage of Dumbarton, the club and its fans plays.
Stephen said: “I wrote the poem a few months ago and it’s been great to be able to perform and see the results on film.
“Hopefully it resonates with Sons fans far and wide and helps shift a few more tickets for the final on the 24th.”
While commenting on how the film was conceived and put together, John added: “We wanted to have a lasting memory of the club’s effort at reaching the final.
“Stephen and I had a chat and we collaborated on the project with friends and colleagues who helped put the video together.”
