Pupils from Dumbarton and the Vale did well to tackle the challenge as they took part in P6 Rugby Final.
Teams from St Mary’s, Gartocharn, Aitkenbar and St Michael’s Primaries joined Clydebank schools Edinbarnet and Clydemuir to battle it out for the chance at a gold, silver or bronze medal.
St Mary’s and Gartocharn, and Aitkenbar and St Michael’s qualified for the final, as the top two teams from the Vale and Dumbarton Rugby Festivals respectively.
The final was held at Vale of Leven Academy and each of the schools took on each other in a round robin event of games lasting 14 minutes.
And while Edinbarnet took gold, all the teams played extremely well with Gartocharn claiming silver and Aitkenbar bringing home bronze.
The event was run as part of the West Dunbartonshire School Games organised by Active Schools.
Emma McCluskey, active schools coordinator for Dumbarton, said: “What an atmosphere at the rugby final! Great performances from all schools and a huge well done to all our 6 finalists.”
