FANS were treated to a night of top wrestling in Dumbarton recently as some of the country’s biggest names in the sport performed in town.

The Meadow Centre played host to an array of eccentric characters from Premier British Wrestling (PBW).

The main event saw Stevie Xavier defend his PWB Championship title in an action-packed three-way match up with BT Gunn and Wolfgang.

The face-off even spilled out of the ring and out into the hallway – but a super kick from Xavier to Gunn meant that he the reigning champion held onto his title.

Jack Jester was also due to appear, but suffered an injury the night before the show.

Ross Watson, PBW owner, told the Reporter: “I was thrilled with the show.“Granted, it wasn’t our biggest turnout we have had in Dumbarton – but you would never have known. The audience were fantastic and the energy from them and the wrestlers throughout was electric.

“I thought the main event delivered in every way a main event can.”

“Credit goes to Wolfgang, Stevie Xavier and BT Gunn for going all out to ensure the fans had a championship match to remember. “

And there’s more action to come later in the year, with the PBW wrestlers set to return to the Meadow Centre on November 24.

Ross added: “I look forward to the challenge of trying to top June’s show then.”
