THE anguished family of a tragic Vale teenager found dead on a country road have slated the authorities for failing their beloved son.

Talented footballer Dean Geary, 19, was found

by a motorist at the A811 near Drymen in the early hours of February 7, 2010. He had suffered serious head injuries.

It is believed the Tullichewan teenager had taken what he thought was a taxi from Glasgow city centre, where he had been enjoying a night out with pals. It is still not known why or where he got out of the car. Dean's body was discovered eight miles from his home. He did not have his phone or his wallet on him.

Now his grieving family have hit out after learning that charges against taxi driver John Ross - who told police that he had witnessed two men rob and murder the teenager, have been dropped.
