Hunt for bookie raider

POLICE are hunting a crook responsible for a robbery in Dumbarton's High Street on Saturday.

The hooded man walked into the William Hill bookmakers at around 7.15pm before threatening staff and making off with a three-figure sum of cash.

The thug is also thought to have targeted the Dumbarton Service Station in Townend Road shortly before at around 6.55pm and is said to have threatened staff but fled empty-handed.

The man is described as being in his late 20s, around 6ft tall and of thin build, with dark-coloured jogging bottoms and white trainers.

He has dark fair hair, a Celtic scarf

covering his face and spoke with a rough local accent.

Anyone with any information about the man is being urged to contact Clydebank CID on 0141 532 3379 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
