The incident happened around 7.30pm on the cycle path near to West Bridgend in the town. The man was allegedly attacked by three men who then stole £80 cash from him.
After a ‘positive line of enquiry’ police traced and arrested two men aged 49 and 24 – they have since been charged with assault and robbery after appearing at court last Wednesday (April 16).
Police say they are continuing their investigations to trace the third man.
