Donna Miller appeared at the house in Glen Avenue, Haldane, with the weapon concealed up her right hand sleeve. They were attached using a hairband.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard how the 44-year-old, of Cook Road, Haldane, turned up to the house with another person in April this year.

The witness contacted police who arrived a short time after detaining and searching her, discovering the concealed weapon.

She appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week for sentencing.

Roddy Boag, defending, said: “There’s nothing remarkable about her record. There was an element of planning in this and there seems to be some kind of domestic background to it.” Sheriff Colin MacKay said the matter came over as a serious one, and the “business of attaching them to her wrist” were a concern. However, he acknowledged she had no significant record and clear “personal health issues”.

Miller was fined £300 and ordered to pay at £40 per fortnight.
