The event, which has been running since 1967, is one of the top competitions in Scotland with competitors competing to win a share of a prize fund worth £15,000.

Taking place at the Moss O’ Balloch Park on Saturday (July 19) from 9.30am until 5pm, the event will host a range of traditional highland game competitions including hammer throwing and caber-tossing.

This year’s event includes Scotland’s only Highland Games Triathlon which consists of a 750 metres swim in Loch Lomond, followed by a 12.5 kilometres cycle ride and a 4.5km run to the finishing line.

The games also host the Scottish Highland Games Association World Heavyweight Championship and the 80 metre Scottish Sprint Championship.

The event will come to a climax at around 5pm with a mass pipe band march through Balloch town centre.

There will be strict parking restrictions in place in and around the park, stewards will be there to give advice on the day.
