The off-peak safety barrier works, will be carried out for Transport Scotland by contractor Highway Barrier Solutions, with site supervision by Scotland TranServ.

It is anticipated the works — which began yesterday (Monday) — will last for up to six weeks and consist of replacement of the central reserve crossover barrier at the north end of the bridge; replacement of the adjoining low-level central reserve barriers at the north end of the bridge; and installation of 50 mph terminal signs at the north and south ends of the bridge The works will take place from Monday to Friday each week, from 9.30am-3.30pm, primarily involving single lane offside closures at the north end of the bridge with the traffic lights again being utilised to filter traffic locally into a single southbound nearside lane.

Some closures to the A82/A898 northbound off slip to Clydebank will also be necessary, with traffic being diverted via the A82 Dunglass roundabout and return. These slip road closures will be kept to a minimum.
