That’s thanks to the events team at the Artizan Shopping Centre who will host Dumbarton’s Got Talent on Thursday (August 28).

The evening of music, poetry and comedy at Dumbarton’s Community Hub will see Helensburgh songstress, Freyja Coulter make her debut while comedian Garreth John from Dumbarton, and young rocker Jonny Couper, will also perform.

The evening will also feature an impressive lineup of local acts and will be introduced by Dumbarton poet, Rolf Campbell who starred at the Community Hub earlier this year.

Rolf told the Reporter: “This is a great opportunity to give some talented young artists like Freyja the chance to stand up in front of an audience and give them a taste of performing because who knows where it might lead. The Hub has been a great idea and we’re hoping a good crowd come along.” Singer/songwriter Pauline Bradley from Clydebank, Joe Quinn of popular band The O’Cajunals, Marc Carr, Dave Stanway and the haunting voice of Anne Donald will also all perform on the night which will feature a collection in aid of Parkinson’s Disease charities.

Louise Scott, marketing executive for the Artizan Shopping Centre, said: “This is the third such event we’ve held at the Hub and we’re really pleased with the way it has been embraced by the local community. The response has been wonderful and we’re always keen to hear from other groups who would like to make use of this space here at the Artizan.” The BYOB evening will start at 7pm and run until 10pm.
