Shoppers who don’t fancy a long journey to Glasgow can now pick up their John Lewis online orders for free at Waitrose in Helensburgh.
The ‘click and collect’ service enables customers to pick-up items while doing their weekly shop. Goods can be ordered online at www.johnlewis.com up until 7pm and picked-up after 2pm the next day in the store.
Denise Haggerty, from Dumbarton, was the first customer to use the click and collect service and was presented with a bouquet of flowers by colleagues at the Helensburgh branch to celebrate.
Neil Beckham, branch manager of Waitrose Helensburgh said: “Rather than spending time in traffic or on the train, customers can now simply pick up John Lewis items right here in Helensburgh.
“Whether it’s a kitchen gadget, a new television, clothes or a last-minute gift for someone special, items can be ordered online and picked up the next day after 2pm, for free.
“We think this will be a really popular service, especially once the countdown to Christmas begins.” There is no minimum value for orders and customers who provide a mobile number will receive a text message to let them know their order is ready to collect.
