The incident took place at McDermid’s newsagent at around 06.35am on Saturday, May 17.

Officers are keen to speak with the man pictured in the images released as it is believed he will be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as white, aged between 18 and 23 years, 5 ft 2 in height, of thin build and spoke with a local accent He was wearing a dark grey waterproof jacket (hood up) which had lighter coloured patches on both shoulders and a white logo on the left breast, dark grey coloured trousers with lighter coloured bands on the sides, a football scarf covering the lower half of his face and was carrying a dark coloured rucksack.

Detective Constable Stevie Monaghan, Clydebank CID, is leading this enquiry.

He said: “I would urge anyone who may have been in the area to contact officers as they may have information that could assist with our enquiry.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Clydebank CID on 101.
