Over 20 weeks, a specialist Morrisons team has been working around-the-clock to transform the store. The new store boasts the latest ‘misting’ technology to keep produce fresher for longer.

A wider choice of fruit and vegetables are now being stocked, along with some more unusual lines.

The store’s Market Street Butcher, Baker, Fishmonger, Cake Shop, Deli and Fresh to Go have been ‘opened up’, so that shoppers can see specialists at work.

The store will also have a new Flower Shop, offering a range of flowers and plants for all occasions and budgets. A new Beers, Wines and Spirits section will also be opened, stocking a range of wines.

Russell McCaw, store general manager, said: “We have made a significant investment into our Dumbarton store, and we’re really proud of the result. We hope our customers will agree that the improvements have transformed our store, it feels like new inside the original building. We expect it will result in a brighter, and more pleasant shop for our customers.” Fixtures and fittings have been removed and the whole shop floor de-cluttered.

The store has also been freshly painted both inside and out.

The new fridges, counters and lighting will also reduce carbon emissions to have a beneficial environmental effect. It is expected that the store will become much more efficient as a result.
