Transport bosses agreed to invest a share of £745,000 to improve public transport services and infrastructure in Dumbarton and the Vale.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) agreed the money for bus infrastructure, cycle routes and the roundabout at Church Street in Dumbarton at a meeting on Friday.
SPT will be working in partnership with the council to deliver the three projects in 2015/16.
Councillor Lawrence O’Neill, Partnership Board member for West Dunbartonshire, said: “I very much welcome this significant investment from SPT which will go towards improving the bus services and cycle routes within the West Dunbartonshire area, which are issues close to the hearts of our residents.
“Another welcome improvement due to this funding will be the realignment of the roundabout at Church Street in Dumbarton, which will make life easier for motorists using Dumbarton town centre.”
