Organised by Craig Millne the night promises to be a barrel of laughs as he’s organised the best of Scottish comedy to perform.

Craig, 30, says he organised the event to repay Yorkhill for looking after him 30 years ago.

He said: “I’ve been wanting to do something for a while now, I was treated in Yorkhill as a baby and I wanted to pay them back. I’ve been to a number of charity nights in the past, it’s always a night at the races, and raffles, I want to do something different. I love stand up, and I wanted to see who I could bring to Dumbarton to perform.” Lined up for the night is Neil McFarlane, who finished third in the first ever Scottish Comedian of the Year back in 2006, supported by Eddie Cassidy the winner of the 2012 Scottish Comedian of the Year and a regular at the Stand Comedy Club Glasgow. Stuart Mitchell, a regular at the Stand Comedy Club is also performing, and the event is hosted by English comedian Aaron Levene who performed at the first ever Jewish comedy festival, and one of the finest compare’s on the comedy circuit.

Craig said the help he received from Cheers has been invaluable. He added: “They were very accommodating and helpful, the manager Steven he used to run a comedy night and he gave me a lot of pointers and help promoting it.

“I really wanted to do something in Dumbarton and keep it local, as my girlfriend is from there.” Having never done anything like this before, Craig said the support from his colleagues in Chivas has encouraged him to think about promoting a more regular night.

He said: “I’m keen to do it on a regular basis now as the support has been so good. I work at Chivas in Paisley and the boys in work have been supportive, and I’ve been putting out emails to the other Chivas plant in Dumbarton. The Paisley plant is helping with the raffle donations along with local businesses for donations.

“Yorkhill have been very supportive, they’ve been publishing it on their Facebook and news. Everyone supports Yorkhill, and it’s an excellent cause. We’ll see how this goes, but if it’s a success, I’d definitely like to make it a more regular event for different charities.” Tickets for the night can be purchased online at www.skiddel.com or on the door on March 6. The show starts at 7.30pm.
