Acting on tip-offs from locals, five teams of officers were sent to addresses in O’Hare last week in a bid to snare those involved in high-profile drug dealing.

Following the operation one woman was reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to an alleged drug offence.

Detective Inspector Douglas Wilson said residents in Dumbarton and the Vale were concerned by the blight on their communities caused by drug dealers.

He said: “Consistently, the community are saying this is a concern. It is something we are reacting to and constantly dealing with.” He added that in the past two months 211 people had been reported for the production or supply of drugs, often thanks to information given to police from the local community.

DI Wilson urged anyone with information to call 101.
