Police are appealing for information about the Dumbarton bank robbery this morning.
Officers said the robber was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava when he entered the Royal Bank of Scotland in the town's High Street at around 9.30am.
He threatened staff with a knife and left the premises with an 'unknown' sum of money, thought to be up to £10,000.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Gillies said: “This was a terrifying incident for staff and members of the public within the bank and it is very important that we trace the person responsible as quickly as possible.
“I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.
“Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where anonymity will be maintained.”
