Discount chain B&M has confirmed it is taking over the former Homebase store in Dumbarton, creating 75 jobs.
The new store at St James Retail Park is due to open on July 4.
A B&M spokesman said former Homebase staff are guaranteed interviews for jobs at the new shop.
Workers at Homebase faced an uncertain New Year after the company revealed after Christmas it was consulting with staff about plans to lease the store at St James Retail Park to another company.
The firm refused to disclose how many staff jobs were under threat but said it would look at transferring workers to nearby Homebase stores as well as Argos shops if possible, as the two firms are owned by the same parent company, Home Retail Group.
The nearest Homebase stores are in Greenock and Milngavie. There is also an Argos store at the retail park.
Home Retail Group revealed last year one in of four of their stores will close by 2019.
