David McCaa previously pleaded guilty to resisting, obstructing or hindering officers in the execution of their duty at Ladyton on December 30 last year.
The 40-year-old also admitted failing to provide a blood specimen without reasonable excuse at Clydebank Police Station on the same date.
McCaa, of Main Street, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court for sentencing last week.
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told McCaa his record did him no favours, ordering him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within six months and placing him under supervision for 18 months.
McCaa was also disqualified from driving for 15 months and fined £170.
