A MANHUNT has been launched after two men – armed with guns – forced their way into a Brucehill home and robbed a woman.

The 29-year-old victim was left in a ‘very distressed state’ following the home raid at around 11.45pm, on Wednesday, July 1.

Detectives at Clydebank have ramped up patrols in the area while officers are ‘continuing enquiries’.

Police Scotland said the woman was within her home in Graham Road, Brucehill, when two men forced their way into the house. They threatened her with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money.

They then ran out of the house with money and personal items belonging to the woman.

The woman was not injured but left in a very distressed state. The firearm was not discharged at any time.

Detective Sergeant Darren Munogee, at Clydebank CID, said: “This was obviously a very frightening experience for the young woman who thankfully was not physically injured during this incident.

“Our enquiries are underway to establish the exact motive for this robbery however we believe that this was not a random attack and that the property was the intended target for the culprits.

“I’d also like to reassure the public that there will be an increased police presence in the Dumbarton area and anyone who has any information that could assist our enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on telephone number 101.”
