The Kazakh ambassador to UK visited Aggreko’s Dumbarton factory today.

The company welcomed a high-level delegation from the Embassy of Kazakhstan to the UK lead by His Excellency, Ambassador Erzhan Kazykhanov at the company’s global manufacturing facility in Dumbarton (pictured on the tour with head of manufacturing Jim Kilpatrick).

The visit to the Aggreko plant was part of a three day programme which included meetings with business, government and academia in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

Mr Kazykhanov’s visit came as Aggreko announced its intention to further expand operation in Kazakhstan from its current oil and gas interest into mining and petrochemicals - saying the country was a ‘key growth market’ in the Eurasian region.

Aggreko said that providing high quality, supplementary generation and bridging power solutions to both industry and the grid in the country, the company can help support further expansion of the Kazakh economy.

Volker Schulte, Aggreko's director of manufacturing and technology said: “It is a great honour to have Ambassador Kazykhanov and his colleagues visit our global manufacturing facility and to see our operations first hand.

“Kazakhstan holds huge potential so today has been a great opportunity to further cement relationships and demonstrate Aggreko’s absolute commitment to quality and innovation, and the skill, experience and passion of our local workforce.” Mr Kazykhanov said: “It’s clear from the size and scale of the Dumbarton facility how this plant forms the foundation of Aggreko’s position as a true British manufacturing and export success story. I look forward to the onward development of Aggreko’s operations in Kazakhstan.”
