The Titan Crane in Clydebank was one one many landmarks lit up in the colours of the French flag at the weekend as a mark of respect to the victims of the Paris attacks.

West Dunbartonshire Council lit the crane red, white and blue as a symbol of solidarity with France after the terrorist attacks on Friday night which left at least 129 people dead and around 350 people injured.

Elsewhere in Scotland the Hydro in Glasgow and the Usher Hall in Edinburgh were also lit in colours of the tricolour as were iconic world landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Tower Bridge in London.

The council also plans to observe the minute's silence being held across Europe at 11am today and flags at the council building will fly at half mast as a further symbol of respect.
