LOCH Lomond Shores have been informed by the judges of the Scottish Hospitality Awards that they have made the shortlist of finalists in this year’s award nominations.

They have been nominated in the category of ‘Best Scottish Day out of the Year’ for the second year in a row.

The voting has been solely down to the public at this stage and they have nominated the loch-side day trip and shopping complex as their favourite destination for the most fun day out.

The next stage will see the industry judging panel carry out their evaluations and ultimately decide on the winner who will be announced at the high profile awards bash at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on Monday, June 26.

And it is no wonder that the five-star attraction is receiving such recognition as 2016 was a record breaking year for the shopping and leisure complex with more than 1.3 million visitors.

This resulted in it being named one of the top visited Scottish attractions last year amongst Edinburgh Castle and The National Museum of Scotland by the findings collated by The Moffat Centre for Travel and Tourism Business Development.

Clare Gemmell, Loch Lomond Shores general manager said: “When we learned that we had made the shortlist of these prestigious national awards for a second year in a row, we were absolutely delighted. It is a wonderful feeling to know that public votes have been the determining factor in us reaching the final stages.

“This is great recognition for Loch Lomond Shores as our visitors are always at the heart of our plans and developments and to know they have enjoyed their day out here gives all of the team a great sense of satisfaction.’’
