Refuses to disclose details early

THE area"s MP - who has claimed a staggering £601,147 in expenses in the past four years - turned down the opportunity to publish full details in the Reporter this week.

John McFall refused an invitation to disclose a break down of his claims to his constituents through the paper in the interests of transparency.

He said: 'The Fees Office has already undergone a process, which I am co-operating fully with, to compile and release all of the expenses information in June.

'I will not be releasing my expenses before then.'

When asked whether he had anything to be concerned about regarding what he has claimed for, the Labour MP replied: 'I would hope not.'
