A BOUNCING baby girl made an unexpected arrival - in her parents' living room.
Little Ruby Whitehill could not wait to make her big entrance into the world, but her mum and dad were left "shocked and scared" when paramedics had to perform the emergency delivery.
Gavin Whitehill, 30, and Mhairi Mackenzie, 29, were delighted to welcome their 'wee gem', who is a sister for Molly, despite having to go through the dramatic home birth.
Mum Mhairi said: "It was a bit of a shock and although we can laugh about it now because everything worked out, looking back it was really scary.
"She was quite blue when she was born so I was really worried, but it soon became clear that there were no complications and I relaxed."
The Dumbarton East couple admitted that they were initially a little concerned for Ruby's health when she was born at 1.30pm, but have praised the two paramedics for their invaluable skills and help.
Ruby was born on September 30 at a healthy 9lbs, on a day which Gavin and Mhairi will never forget.
