A snap happy resident has recorded the past 500 days of his life by posting one picture a day from his surroundings online.

On Saturday, Campbell Yule, 63, reached the milestone which has taken up the best part of the last two years of his life.

The Dumbarton East man was previously a keen golfer but was forced to quit the sport and find a new hobby after suffering a heart attack and retiring from his job at the council.

He now takes pictures of his daily outings and snaps anything from football, wildlife and family members to more traditional stunning landscape scenery shots before posting them on Bliphoto.com for the world to see.

Campbell said: "I had my heart attack nine years ago and a few other things happened.

"I had to give up golf and that was my first love. I was a member of Dumbarton and Cardross golf clubs, I played for 25 years and as I was getting good I had to stop. I was medically retired and I thought it would be good to try and get something to take up my time. I went through half a dozen point and shoot cameras in the first year I got into it.

"I love it, I basically started to fill a void because I couldn't play golf, and you can sit down and take photographs.

"It's only in the last three years I've really started getting serious. I love it, it's more than taken the place of golf.

"It makes me more aware of what's going on around me I can see a photograph and my wife will say 'What you taking a photo of that for?' then I'll make a few adjustments and crop it and it looks different and she'll say 'Is that the same picture?' "My car keys are next to my camera - I don't travel anywhere without it.

"I take pictures of anything at all and I've got six grandchildren so they're on quite a lot. I used to take photographs and say 'smile' but the better ones are taken when they're not expecting it." When asked what his favourite picture was out of all the photographs he had taken over the years Campbell said one stood out from all the others.

He added: "The one I took from the Erskine Bridge. It was an absolutely gorgeous day last August.

"I walked up there and put the effort in to it and got a beautiful view of the castle and the Forth of Clyde.

"My wife says I'm never off the laptop and she's probably right!" To have a look at Campbell's online photo album go to Blipfoto.com/superhero.
