THE body of Balloch dad Andrew Barrie, who was swept away in while on holiday with his family, has been found it has been confirmed.

The 50-year-old had been enjoying a holiday in British Columbia, Canada, with his wife Carol, 50, and his 16-year-old son Andrew.

He was thought to have been using a flotation device on the Kettle River shortly before the strong current pulled him and two others over the Cascade falls.

The stretch of water is usually very calm but had developed strong currents due to recent heavy rainfall in the area.

Yesterday (Tuesday) a Foreign Office spokesperson told the Reporter: \\\"We can confirm that a British national who was reported missing in British Columbia on July 29 has been found dead. We are providing consular assistance to the family.\\\"
