MEMBERS of Luss Community Council and other groups in the village are set to meet Jim Smith – the council’s head of roads and amenity services - in a closed meeting on Wednesday, September 30.
Members of the council will put questions to Mr Smith regarding proposals by Argyll and Bute Council to make the core of the village residents and business-only parking.
There are currently proposals to introduce £40 parking permits for residents and business owners in the village.
Members met at last Thursday’s community council to put together a list of questions for Mr Smith ahead of Wednesday’s meeting.
Ian Maceachern, convenor of Luss Community Council told the Reporter: “We’re looking for answers to how frequently traffic wardens are going to be in the village to control the parking to make sure people are getting the best value for their permit.
“It becomes chaos on Saturday and Sunday afternoons so we want to make sure when they’re going to be there. We will also be asking why people have to pay £40 for a permit when young people have to drive to get to their work so we will basically be questioning the charges.” This is a closed meeting so no members of the public will be able to attend.
