'We're being treated like a travelling circus
THE group expecting to stage a 3,000-strong 'Orange' march through Dumbarton on Saturday has accused the council of treating it like a "travelling circus".
Religious order the Provincial Grand Black Chapter of Scotland says the council is guilty of "gross maladministration" over its demand for a £10,000 deposit from it.
The council routinely requests such amounts to ensure it is not left out of pocket if any damage is caused by event holders staging activities on public property.
The Chapter - which is preparing to bring around 3,000 participants making up the 44 bands - had requested the use of Levengrove Park for a religious service and was hit with the demand.
