Ex-pat bard prepares for Scottish debut performance
A VALE-born poet who emigrated to Canada more than four decades ago has used his memories of growing up in the area to inspire his latest works.
Proud Celt James Lafferty is preparing to release his second CD of readings during his latest trip to Scotland.
And the 62-year-old has described this return visit as one of the most "special" yet, because it will be the first time he has ever performed in front of a home crowd.
The dad-of-two grew up in Jamestown and also lived in Renton and Balloch before moving to Canada 42 years ago, as part of an exciting trip.
James will be performing readings from his new album, A Celtic Blessing, at the Gal Gael Institute in Govan on September 10 and in Balloch Library on September 27.
