IT started with a gift for her daughter and snowballed into a monster collection destined to become a bizarre family heirloom.
Sylvia Spark and her daughter Zandra started collecting snow domes two decades ago and they now adorn almost every free space in the 46-year-old Sylvia's home.
Now that Zandra, 26, has two children of her own and no longer lives with her mum, Sylvia thinks that it might be time to pass them on to her grandchildren - but she is not making a storm in a snow dome out of the issue.
The globes - more than 100 - can be found all over the house, as well as a number of them simply in boxes, because the dedicated cabinet which they were originally put in is now completely full.
Some strange collections which gather in people's homes can end up raking in thousands when sold at auction, but Sylvia is content to keep her domes because of all the memories they hold.
The Bonhill gran said: "I don't think they are worth anything and we would never get rid of them, but it is the sentimental value that you can't take away."
