A GRAND-DAD who had been missing for more than a week has been found safe and well.

Edward Ward, of Clydeshore Road, Dumbarton, has been traced by police after he was last seen leaving his home on Friday September 11.

His wife Irene, 63, had spoken to the Reporter about how she and his family were "worried sick" about the 59-year-old, who was known to many in the town as Eddie.

Strathclyde Police had been working with their colleagues in England as they believed he could have been in Wolverhampton or Carlisle at some point since he left his home.

But today (Wednesday) he has been contacted by officers after being missing for around a week and a half.
