AN Oscar nominated actress and a Hollywood heart-throb have arrived in Dumbarton.
Superstars Minnie Driver and Goran Visnjic are in town to film a five-part thriller, and have also been joined by the man voted as the person "everyone wants to have a pint with", James Nisbett.
The three A-list stars are starring in The Deep, which is set thousands of feet below the Arctic ice and is being filmed at the BBC studios, at the Lomondgate development, for the next few months.
The decorated actors' latest project, which is being made by Tiger Aspect Productions, follows their work as a submarine crew on their way to the final frontiers of earth in their quest for unknown and remarkable life forms.
But inexplicable circumstances cause catastrophe to strike and it leaves them stranded with no power, limited oxygen and no communication with the surface, so the crew reach crisis point.
Greg Brenman, head of drama for Tiger Aspect Productions, said: "The Deep will offer a breathtaking, high-octane viewing experience, mixing non-stop jeopardy with a thrilling narrative drama from the headlines.
"It is testament to Simon Donald's gripping and expertly crafted script that we have attracted such distinguished and prominent names to this series.
"We are immensely proud and privileged to be working with Minnie, Goran and James."
The Deep will be aired next year on BBC One.
