Racing legend to join birthday bash

GUEST: Sir Jackie, pictured with wife Helen, during his visit to Dumbarton in the Summer
THE three-time F1 champion Sir Jackie Stewart has been lined up to open the newly-refurbished children's section of Dumbarton Library.
The library will have a host of celebrity visitors dropping by this year as part of its 100th birthday celebrations, with Dumbarton icon Stewart - who suffers from dyslexia - thought to be the first of many high profile names.
The children's section of the Dumbarton library re-opened last week after extensive refurbishment.
The junior area, which has not had any major refurbishment since its opening in 1969, has had a complete re-vamp, leaving it more colourful and welcoming.
West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) confirmed on Friday that Sir Jackie, who was made a Freeman of West Dunbartonshire last Summer, will be doing the honours.
Terry Lanagan, WDC Education and Lifelong Learning executive director for West Dunbartonshire Council said: "I am absolutely thrilled that Sir Jackie is returning home to officially open the children's library at Dumbarton Library and to help us celebrate the library's centenary.
"I have a huge amount of respect for the work that Sir Jackie does in promoting Education and Lifelong Learning and the valuable work he does in highlighting dyslexia.
"On his last visit last year to accept the Freemanship of West Dunbartonshire, Sir Jackie visited his old school Dumbarton Academy and we are delighted to welcome him back."
