AMBITIOUS plans to transform a run-down housing scheme have been revealed.
If successful, the development will replace derelict houses in Hill Street, Brucehill.
Split into two phases, the project will see 48 new homes built by Cordale Housing Association (CHA).
The proposed properties are a mixture of one, two and three bedroom houses and four bungalows.
Pro-active members of the Brucehill Project Management Group (BPMG) requested CHA be commissioned to carry out a feasibility study into providing high quality affordable houses for rent in the area.
Labour councillor David McBride, who is part of the BPMG, said: "After many years of trying to get Hill Street and the derelict properties demolished, we have a way of working closely with the Scottish Government to build good quality housing.
"As it stands, nothing has been decided yet and we are keen to hear the residents' views.
"It is very exciting for Brucehill."
Stephen Gibson, director of CHA, said: "At the moment we are in the process of sharing the proposals with residents and we are in a position to hear their views."
Now the group is in the process of considering all comments made by residents and where possible, the proposals will be amended to reflect the views expressed by the community.
