AN INSPIRATIONAL group of youngsters wowed judges with their performance on a hit new TV show.
Singer Station, a group of seven singers from Alexandria, fought off stiff competition on the show, winning their round of the Glee-inspired Channel 5 talent show Don't Stop Believing on Sunday night.
The all-singing, all dancing programme, which is hosted by former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, is searching for the UK's top choir.
Acts performed in front of a panel of judges, including American singer Anastasia, actress Tamzin Outhwaite and former Blue star Duncan James.
Now the group - Kirsten Gibson, 16, Sian Ross, 14, Jenny Sim, 16, Kerri Glover, 14, Zaina Mabuye, 14, and Stuart Wilson, 15, all from Alexandria, and Steven Thomson, 14, from Helensburgh - are all hoping that everyone in West Dunbartonshire will vote for them throughout the competition.
Louise MacFarlane, who launched the Jamestown-based Singer Station with husband Des in 2007, was buzzing with excitement.
Talking to the Reporter from the television studios in London, she said that the youngsters found out they would be appearing on the show in June, but had to keep it quiet, which proved difficult.
She added: "At the first audition the kids sang True Colours and they were just stars, they did really well.
"The audition was better than other auditions as the kids were given room to practice.
"Since getting through it has been non-stop.
"The competition for Don't Stop Believing is so, so good and the kids have practised every single minute they can get.
"Its been fantastic as they have worked with vocal coaches and other creative people to help them."
The winners of the show will get a record deal.
Singer Station will next appear in the shows finals once the initial rounds are over.
