Joint deal to tackle nuisance neighbours

A NEW initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour has been launched.

The Joint Anti-Social Behaviour Policy will ensure all complaints are investigated using the same standard approach, regardless of whether the complainant is a council tenant, housing association tenant, private landlord or homeowner.

It was launched at Dumbarton police station last week.

Representatives from West Dunbartonshire Council's Anti-social Investigation and Support Team (ASIST) and nine local Registered Social Landlords (RSL) were present to sign-up to the policy.

Karen Byrne, from Bellsmyre Housing Association, is fully supportive of the initiative.

She added: "We are delighted to build on the already existing close and effective working relationships operating between West Dunbartonshire Council, Strathclyde Police and housing associations in the area.

"The launch of the joint Anti-Social Behaviour Policy demonstrates the commitment all the partners have to supporting our communities, delivering real and lasting solutions to anti-social behaviour and ensuring a consistent approach to tackling it wherever it occurs in West Dunbartonshire."
