‘No respect for anything’

A TERRORISED dad has hit out at the louts making his family’s life hell, after he was convicted of assaulting a teenager he says is one of the instigators.

Frustrated Colin MacInnes, 44, claims he and his wife and two kids have been subjected to rowdy parties, threats and vandalism from people visiting a neighbouring house.

The “year of hell” in the Garshake Avenue community, in Bellsmyre, came to a head on March 20 this year when Colin lost his cool and attacked a 16-year-old when he saw him in the street.

The dad was walking with a friend and “lost the plot”, shoving the teen then kicking him on the body.

Colin said: “I shouldn’t have done it.

“You just get fed up with it all.

“The law does nothing for me - where’s this sixteen-year-old boy getting money to spend on drink and terrorising people while I’m at work providing for my family?

“Something needs to be changed - it’s a total nightmare and these people have no respect for anything except getting off their faces.”

Colin, an operations manager at a distribution company, was arrested and he appeared in Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Tuesday August 3 where he pled guilty to assault.

The court was told that police were “sympathetic” to Colin’s plight.
