A TEAM of celebrities were “gobsmacked” by the beauty of Dumbarton Castle as they flew overhead on a special trip.
Comedians Dara O’Briain, Rory McGrath and Griff Rhys Jones were in Scotland filming for a new BBC programme, Three Men and a Boat, which sees them travel around Scotland taking in the marvellous scenery.
The trio took a Loch Lomond Seaplane over the area on July 28.
Managing director and pilot of Loch Lomond Seaplanes, David West, said he had a great time flying them over Dumbarton and Loch Lomond.
He told the Reporter: “Dara, Rory and Griff started planning for their series about mountains for the BBC back in 2006 and Griff Rhys Jones wanted to go on a seaplane so he suggested it.
“They are a lovely bunch of guys and there was lots of laughter.
“They were suberb and were very easy to talk to.”
Meeting the special guests on their arrival in Glasgow, David then took them the 15-minute journey to Loch Lomond, during which they remarked on the beautiful landscape.
David added: “As we flew up past Dumbarton Castle they were gobsmacked at the beauty.
“There were a lot of ‘oos and ahs’.
“They were really really impressed and couldn’t believe how close Loch Lomond was to Glasgow.”
The programme is expected to air on BBC Scotland in December.
