THE crestfallen youngsters of Singer Station said they won’t ‘Stop Believing’ after their dreams of winning a TV singing competition came to an end.

Melting the hearts of viewers across the UK, the seven talented teens gave a poignant performance of ‘Starmaker’ from the hit musical Fame as they competed to win Channel 5’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ on Sunday night.

But their dreams were dashed when they did not receive enough votes to win the show.

Taking it in their stride, Des McFarlane, who set up the group with wife Louise, said the youngsters have had an amazing experience and one that will stay with them forever.

He told the Reporter: “They were brilliant..

“They gave a great account of themselves as the idea was to go to the final and show people what they can do.

“To get down to the final six out of 3,000 groups, is amazing.

“The kids can take a lot of experience from it if they want to have a career in music.”

After their performance, judge Tamsin Outhwaite, who has supported the singers from the start, gave the group some harsh comments.

She said on the show: “I love what this represents to you but as for the competition I think you’re out of your depth.”

Fellow judge and pop singer Anastasia tried to reassure the youngsters saying: “You guys are wonderful.”

With a glittering performance of Beyonce’s hit ‘Single Ladies’ it was Dalediva who won the show.

The group - Kirsten Gibson, Sian Ross, Jenny Sim, Kerri Glover, Zaina Mabuye and Stuart Wilson all from Alexandria and Steven Thomson, from Helensburgh, returned home yesterday (Monday) after a whirlwind few months.

Thanks to kind-hearted coach firm McColls, 16 of the group’s family and friends managed to make it down to the Sunday night final.
