TRAGEDY: The River Leven at Balloch

A LEVENVALE man has died after a tragic boating accident over the weekend.

Well-liked dad-of-one Kenneth Baxter drowned after a day out on his boat with friends.

His body was found near the vessel on the River Leven in Balloch early on Sunday morning.

Heartbroken pals last night paid tribute to the council worker, who was described as a popular friend, father and colleague who would be "greatly missed". A council spokeswoman added: "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."

Kenneth's body was found next to his boat in the River Leven - near to Balloch's Dalvait Road - at around 8.30am on Sunday.

The tragic 46-year-old - who worked as a plumber for West Dunbartonshire Council - had enjoyed a day out on his boat with a number of friends.

Police have confirmed their enquiries are still ongoing, although his death is believed to have been accidental.
