HERE is what is making the headlines in Dumbarton & the Vale this week.

A TOP cop has warned that fire-raisers will have blood on their hands if the wilful acts of arson terrorising Vale families don't stop.

Strathclyde Police Superintendent Fergus Byrne said: "Somebody will be killed if it continues."

The authorities this week turned up the heat on the Bonhill arsonists by conducting a fact-finding walkabout in the blaze-scarred community.

A TALENTED group of rockers is shooting for the top - after one of their songs became a hit with Robbie Williams.

Holy Pistol Club's catchy By Your Side - which they created on an iPhone - has hit the target with LA-based music legend Williams, 38, and spread like wildfire across America.

Now the band, whose members span Dumbarton and the Vale are hoping their beautifully-crafted song will take the rest of the music industry by storm, after they were contacted by music mogul Paul Beard, who writes songs for Williams, Leona Lewis, 27, and James Blunt, 38.

DISGUSTED householders are demanding urgent action over a plague of rats.

Villagers have contacted the Reporter over the rodent infestation which is blighting families and businesses - and causing serious health fears.

The rats have been allowed to thrive by scavenging rubbish tips - and many empty buildings have a host of the creatures scurrying around inside.
