A814 roadworks update
THE second week of roadworks on the A814 between Helensburgh and Dumbarton are underway between Geilston and Moss Road.
Work has already been completed between Ardoch and Lee works and next week it will start between Ardmore and Iona stables.
This involves re-building the carriageway and improving the surface and skid resistance.
Diversion routes are in place and a shutte bus is in operation.
Councillor Donald Kelly, from Argyll and Bute Council, said "I would like to clear up any confusion over the shuttle bus service being provided by Argyll and Bute Council.
"It is ONLY available when the First Bus Service cannot get past the roadworks. So this week in the Easterly direction it will take you from the end of the roadworks to Cardross Railway Station and in the Westerly direction it will take you from the end of the roadworks to Helensburgh Central Railway Station. The service is free and will pick you up from bus stops along the A814 in the normal way.
"The shuttle service will be available between 7am and 7pm every week day the First Bus service cannot operate. This will mean a round trip service of no more than one hour however there is no set timetable.
"The shuttle bus will only travel the designated First Bus route and pick up or set down passengers at designated bus stops or at the gates of the railway stations indicated."
